Principles of Developmental Processes

Title: Principles of Developmental Processes
Teacher: Arlyn Zones
Date and Time: June 16 & 17, 2012, Saturday- 10-5 & Sunday 10-4:30

Description:
Arlyn-Jones

When working with children and adults it can be extremely useful to use a knowledge of  developmental processes to guide our thinking. Rather than focusing on a sequence of specifically timed developmental milestones, we can ask what are some of the problems that need to be solved in our early years. We can also ask what are the components of various actions that need to be in place in order for the action to appear in the world.

Whether we are called on to help someone recover from injury or to help someone fill in gaps in their self-image, this way of thinking can generate many ways of strategizing your way through Functional Integration® lessons, as well as influence the way you teach Awareness Through Movement®.

The week-end will include lecture, video material, Awareness Through Movement®,
Functional Integration® practices and movement observation.
